RUG - Tibetan Tiger | Silk
The knot used in creating Tibetan rugs is unique, compared to Turkish or Persian knots. A rod is used in process which involves the pile thread wrapping around the two warp threads then looping over the rod before moving on in the sequence. This technique results in a continuous thread that only stops for a color change.
Historically tiger rugs were used by practitioners to symbolize power over the self as well as offer protection to the meditator from outside interference.
These modern day Tiger rugs are made from either 100% silk which is softer and more lustrous or 100% wool. One hundred knots per inch are used in the construction of these rugs and natural dyes result in more organic color tones.
Available in two sizes: 2'x3' or 3'x6'
